Hi Satya: Read with interest your 'Green Oil' book. Left with the question of how do citizens convince Federal & Provincial leaders to act on behalf of the good of Canada rather than blindly allowing the oil/gas & resource dependant industry to decide what's good for them, and pushing their agenda at the expense of the good of Canada?
1. The resources belong to Canadians, & processing thereof into finished products in Canada should be an absolute requirement.
2. Given politicians acting on behalf of the good of Canada, they would ban the export of under-processed resources--requiring these resources to be processed in Canada, & allowing the export of finished products surplus to the long term needs of Canadians. (e.g. Raw logs, fish, pulp, ores, oil/gas, live animals/cattle, grains, etc.)
It would seem that the foregoing 101 Economics, generations to come. Failure to take the step will perpetuate "others" to continue to hold down Canadians to their roll of hewars of wo...
